BC Legislature ratification
The Province of British Columbia ratifies the Maa-nulth Treaty, affirming its commitment to this new relationship.

First Nations ratification
The five Maa-nulth First Nations ratify the treaty through community votes, resulting in support to enter into the Maa-nulth Treaty.
December 9, 2006
Treaty initialed
After a decade of negotiations, the Maa-nulth First Nations, British Columbia, and Canada initial the Maa-nulth Treaty (Maa-nulth First Nations Final Agreement Act).

A foundation for negotiations is established, outlining the scope and process for treaty discussions.

The Nuu-chah-nulth Nations officially enter the BC Treaty Process, beginning a collective journey toward Mordern Treaty.
